Stuck!
Went off to Rosie's and my favourite beach early this morning in Katsouni, Rosie on scooter platform, Richard came too today on his brilliant but ancient Tilting Three Wheeler. This beach is great, few tourists can find it and don't mind about the dog and I don't mind about their nudity. I'll take a photo - of the beach not the nudity!
The beach is a cove at the bottom of a rather sandy path. Rosie and I park and walk down but Richard takes his scooter. We had a marvellous time snorkelling, Rosie-the-dog played with her ball and found some sticks. She swam out to meet us, all was great.
Until we left. Richard's bike got stuck on the path up, in sand. I'd already walked up, but came down to give him a hand. I managed to get it some distance up but stuck again. Rocks behind the rear tyres helped a bit but then... frustration. A car with a young family had arrived as we were leaving and while I was sweating over the bike this car overtook me, Richard in the passenger seat. The driver got out, tied a tow rope with difficulty between his car and the bike and towed me up the windy, sandy, hill.
Thank heavens for kindly Samaritans! On arriving home, there was a web book I'd ordered propped up on the postbox at the bottom of our steps - fantastic!
I just had to share this, seriously good day and it's only 1pm here.
